EXTERIOR
With inspiration drawn from the original Porsche Spyder, this early Boxster S is pleasingly finished in a pristine coat of Arctic Silver. The car itself has amazingly covered just 23k miles from new; its fluid lines gleam under our studio lighting with almost no blemishes to be found. Aside from a few discreet chips there is none of the usual road rash to the front end. The electric soft top is also without major wear, folding away at the touch of a button in a swift twelve seconds.
INTERIOR
The Boxster Red Special Leather is bright and welcoming, with the roof up or down. The soft upholstery still feels factory-fresh, with only the tiniest of wear to the driver's bolster as evidence of use. The exquisite sports seats are typically Porsche and provide ample support with plenty of comfort. Another nice touch is how the internal trim and switchgear is almost completely free of marking, which can be a common issue for painted interior plastics. Even the steering wheel and gear knob retain perfect textures; free from any of the leather shine that normally occurs with regular use.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Behind the cockpit, the water-cooled flat-six plays classic Porsche tunes. The engine starts first turn of the key, idling up to temperature without fuss. Despite covering so few miles, the car has been well maintained in its life to date and was most recently serviced in 2016 at 23, 209 miles. A new clutch was fitted in 2016, and the engine and gearbox mounts were replaced in September this year. The car is complete with an advisory-free MOT until September 2018.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The glistening 17-inch wheels fill the Boxster's arches nicely, each one remaining in perfect condition with the coloured Porsche crest centre caps. The alloys are shod in a matching set of Pirelli PZero tyres with plenty of tread remaining. Between the spokes you'll notice spotless red Porsche calipers, free from any laquer peel or fading.
HISTORY FILE
The Boxster S was supplied new to its first keeper in July 2001. The car remained in the same ownership for the next fifteen years, covering a mere 23k miles over that time. Since then it has been driven sparingly and is now offered for sale with just two owners from new.
