It is difficult to know where to start with this Land Rover!
Matching numbers and unmolested.
Chassis number 16134214 stamped on the engine mount as per picture.
1595cc Engine number 16134389
UK registered as XVV 290 in my name with V5 document present and correct.
Tax and MOT exempt.
Built on 2nd March 1951 and despatched to Wiklunds in Sweden on 13th March 1951.
Built by Rover as a standard 80" Left Hand Drive basic in bronze green.
Side lights on the bulkhead model with lights through the grille which did not continue for long.
Most of the Land Rovers sent to Sweden went to a company called Grip Kaross but I don't believe this is one of theirs as it is much prettier and the bulkhead has been left standard.
It must have gone straight to a local Swedish Coach Builder to have the hardtop put on and then finally registered in Sweden on 24th November 1951.
Last used by Lund Autoservice in 1976 when the gearlever snapped off (comes with a correct replacement) and then luckily it was stored in a nice dry barn for over 40 years until I aquired it and shipped it to England.
Amazingly after all this time I put a battery on it and put some fresh fuel in the carb and it fired up and the original engine sounds great!
Starts on the button every time.
5 Original dated 1951 wheels!
Original seats.
Original drawbar on rear crossmember.
The chassis is very good but will need a rear crossmember.
The bulkhead will need the passenger door post doing but generally is not too bad as the cab seems to have preserved it.
The coach built cab is constructed in the normal fashion with an ash frame and aluminium covering and is very well made.
Personally I would keep it as is and preserve the history.
Seems all complete and not been messed with.
Makes a nice change to all the shiny bronze green ones!
Comes with old log books, some old MOTs back in the 1970's and a heritage certificate.
This will make a very satisfying restoration/ recommissioning project.
