Description

Despite becoming part of the Nuffield Organisation in 1938, the Riley
models that followed immediately after the Second World War were to remain
true to the Riley ethos. Designated 'RM' Series, the new cars were available
in 1. 5 and 2. 5 litre forms, both being class leaders and offering an
exceptional level of roadholding with their rack and pinion steering and
independent front suspension. They were also particularly elegant, with
sleek up to the minute styling and a high level of equipment.

Dating from 1953, having been first registered on 1st May that year, this
'RME' model is in extremely sound condition having been restored during the
1980s and carefully looked after since. It retains the original maroon
interior trim and has recently undergone a full brake overhaul, cylinder
head work and carburettor rebuild and reinstatement of the heater.

Driving very well, with a particularly quiet engine, this Riley is offered
with extensive paperwork including various Riley publications , green RF60
logbook dating back to 1963 and much additional information. A genuine and
correct example, it retains its original registration number and has both
flashing indicators and operational Trafficators fitted with flashing bulbs
for added safety.
