Range Rover Classic V8 3. 5 1988 with direct injection LPG
Hard dash model with lovely original rebuilt V8 engine and the benefit of LPG, which direct injection Prins system with 8 individual injectors and twin under cill tanks, so no loss of boot space.
One of my car collection for the last 6 years and always well maintained, has a brand new MOT until 28th March 2019, so all ready to go onto a new life.
I purchased it when the engine had just been rebuilt in Nov 2011 at a cost of £3781. 00, it then had a new transfer box in Feb 2012 at a cost of £1535. 00 and a stainless steel Janspeed exhaust. Koni shock absorbers all round with standard coil spring conversion, so no worries about air suspension. It had a mileage of 97139 at this point, where I purchased it. She now has 119164, so has done 22, 000 in the last 6 years, all with no problems.
It has since had regular services and we have used for holiday to South of France and trips around Suffolk and down to family in Surrey, she really is a pleasure to drive and with the LPG it does not cost a fortune.
While with me, she has had new power steering pump, new auto box cooler rad, LPG service and regulator rebuild. New rear differential and rear wheel bearing at cost of £519. 00. New brake discs, calipers, pads, flex hoses front and rear at cost of £827. 00 New mud flaps all round.
Failed her MOT Nov 2017 only on rust issues in the body work, not the chassis which is 100% solid, passed on all mechanical issues. So was off the road for this winter while we got all welding sorted out. All replacement panels sources from YRM who make the best quality preformed panels and members. Items replaced were complete rear cross member that supports whole rear of body and tail gate, new rubber mounts also fitted. Boot floor repair panels to both sides behind wheel arches, new rear seat belt mounts in rear wheel arches. Both sides, outer cills have been replace, inner cills original and very solid still. Lower B pillar both sides. So a £1000. 00 later, then through MOT with no more issues.
Has a great set of Goodyear Wranglers Ultra Grip tyres, wheels have been refurbished once, but could do with a repaint again now, as lacquer has lifted.
Huge history file to go with car, with receipts and MOTs going back years.
Overall she has never let us down, always a pleasure to drive and will make somebody a great run around.
Outstanding issues, head lining was new, but has come unstuck in a few places, central locking has stopped working, but I will try and fix that before sale, A/ C loses gas over the length of about 6 months, but will hold gas for the summer if needed.
