The Appeal

The Lotus Europa S2 is one of Colin Chapman's most distinctive creations, a lightweight, mid-engined coupé that brought genuine race-bred engineering to the road. With its Renault-sourced powertrain and fibreglass body over a backbone chassis, the Europa offered an accessible route into mid-engined motoring and remains one of the most engaging driver's cars of its era.
