  • Only two former registered keepers since military decommissioning in 1979
  • Dry stored as part of a Land Rover collection since 2008
  • 3.0-litre Perkins diesel conversion, recently recommissioned

The Appeal

A real treat for military Land Rover enthusiasts, this 1967 FFR109 3/4 Ton represents something quite special. Converted by the British Army from a standard "Fitted For Radio" Land Rover into a Rapier ground-to-air missile carrier, this vehicle is believed to be possibly unique, with the seller never having encountered another example of this specific conversion.

This rare military artefact comes with documented service history showing its deployment with various units, including the 5th Inniskillin Dragoon Guards and later with the 12 Light Air Defence Regiment as part of the British Army of the Rhine.

Having been decommissioned in 1979 and subsequently used on a farm before being acquired by the current owner in 2008, this richly patinated Land Rover is a fascinating piece of Cold War military history that has been preserved in original condition.
