The Appeal
The hot hatch scene continues to endure in style, and the dogged endurance of the Volkswagen Golf still carries the centre of it all. Nimble, fun and easy to maintain, this is one of the most successful and immediately recognisable cars in history, and they've earned every bit of their legacy.
This particular example is a very early production model from March 1984, and is thus believed to be approximately the 5th oldest Mk2 GTI remaining in the UK, the source is Club GTI forum (UK). It's a handsome example from top to tyres, showcasing plenty of originality, having spent 27 years in dry storage before being sympathetically recommissioned by the current owner who is a former Independent Volkswagen & Audi specialist.
Loaded with period-correct features, including the twin headlamp red border GTI grille, side decals and rare fabric interior, this Golf GTI offers a fabulous time capsule.
