The Appeal
Back in the 1980s, if you had the money for a Rolls-Royce but didn’t want the ostentation, you bought a W126 Mercedes. These impeccably crafted cars were eyewatering expensive and built to exacting standards, which likely explains why cars like this smart 1990 500SEC have weathered the intervening decades so well.
Finished in rare Pine Green metallic with complementary beige leather, this 300bhp coupe is in fine shape and has been cosseted by its current keeper. It lives in a carpeted, dehumidified garage under a custom, colour-matched cover. Just prior to sale it was despatched to specialist Autoclass where it received £2,500 of work. This included fresh engine, gearbox and differential fluids and filters, plus a rear wheel bearing and fuel accumulator. We’re told that the previous keeper overhauled the suspension.
Boasting a current MOT valid to March 2027 with no advisories, this relaxing and rewarding grand tourer is ready to enjoy.
The vendor says:
“It's got huge presence because of it's rare colour specification (Nacht Gruen Metallic) over cream interior, on period correct 15-hole Mercedes alloy wheels. It's been a fantastic piece of nostalgia for me (the car I grew up being taken to school in) and was the centre piece of my sister's wedding last summer. It's a cliche, but it stops traffic everywhere it goes. Every trip, someone will pull alongside and offer a compliment. It's got huge torque, and great brakes so it's perfectly capable in modern traffic; it's been huge fun.”

VendedorHola.
