The Appeal
La XJ(LWB) dallo stile limousine potrebbe essere più comune, ma era l'auto SWB dalle proporzioni curate che Sir William Lyons aveva immaginato e poi affinato all'infinito dal suo concept originale di una E-Type a quattro porte.
Questa vettura Regency Red è una delle ultime XJ SWB costruite, una Serie 2 prodotta nel 1974, ultimo anno di produzione SWB. È anche un'auto che nasconde interessanti upgrade. Gli specchietti elettrici, presi da un XJS ma standard sui XJs successivi, sono facili da notare, ma l'upgrade a iniezione è meno evidente. Faceva parte di un progetto completo da £9.000 nel 2016 realizzato dallo specialista di motori Tom Lenhall. Lavori più recenti includono l'installazione di un cambio rigenerato nel 2023 e una revisione dell'impianto elettrico nel 2024. Quell'opera fa parte di una spesa di £9.000 dal 2023 che comprendeva anche nuove guarnizioni para-trasparente anteriore e posteriore, revisione del drive del tachimetro, sensore dell'olio e interruttore di pressione e manutenzione.
La Series 2 XJ è una delle migliori Jaguar di sempre, e la versione SWB è a detta di molti una delle berline più belle mai fatte. Questa vettura molto amata, con i suoi lavori recenti e upgrade, sembra invitante.
