The time has come to sell my 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe. Imported into the UK in June 2018, under my ownership the whole time, it is a 289 4. 7L V8 paired with the 3 speed C4 automatic transmission.
It has been carefully looked after, being garage kept the whole time and regularly serviced.
It does show signs of its age but it looks great, is incredibly fun to drive and has been a dream onto own a part of American history. Priced to sell given the few blemishes, I cannot see another 1965 V8 online at this price. The exterior of the car is in great condition given its age, having had a re-spray in 2017 back in the states. There is some pitting to the chrome parts as shows in the photos, however the paintwork itself is free from major signs of rust. There is some damage to the bonnet as shown in the photos, which wouldn’t be costly to put right.
The vehicle hasn’t been involved in any collisions etc and the bodywork is free from filler from what I checked when I purchased it. The interior is also in good condition for its age, with no tears in the headlining or seats. The dash pad is free from damage and without significant discolouring etc. Imported to the UK from the USA in June 2018, showing a mileage of just 56, 671 which may change as the car still receives occasional weekend use. Imported by Horse Power Kustoms based in Chester, the car then had approximately £1500 spent on new mechanical improvements such as rod ends, bushes, brakes etc to ensure it steers & stops as it should. It was then sent over to Ric Wood Motorsport in Stockport for a tune and engine diagnostics and was showing just over 200HP on their dyno. The car has been serviced annually with new oil & filter change, along with new spark plugs in 2019. It drives well, the C4 transmission changes gears smoothly and the 289 V8 starts first time, idles steadily and has a good amount of power under load. It is paired with an edelbrock performance intake and a Holley 4bbl Carburettor.
The electrics are all working as they should, all lights/ indicators are functional. The radio doesn’t have power but would likely need replacing. I haven’t done it as it would detract from the exhaust note!
