Henry Ford was many things, and one of them was intensely stubborn. Ford's motoring magnate was fiercely resistant to improving upon the ailing Model T's formula, and it wasn't until a fierce deputation from Edsel and the board that he finally allowed a second car to be developed. It wasn't a moment too soon, and the Model 'A' proved to be a very important step up.

Not only could a Ford finally reverse, but it also carried a level of standardisation that matched other cars on the market. Familiar layout, familiar controls, and a nice, straightforward approach to eminently drivable day-to-day motoring. Today, they maintain plenty of popularity and a strong support network.

This example was sourced from a private collection in Gran Canaria in 2018 and has since been permanently imported to the UK. The vendor describes it as a good, usable classic that's running well. With its solid foundation and ready-to-enjoy character, this pre-war car has plenty going for it. Not one to miss!
