Built in 2003, as a Dax Rush demonstrator (for the de Dion suspension I believe - it was all painted red underneath!) based on Sierra components with an EFI Pinto engine & only 7, 500 miles on the clock. Taxed & MOT'd till Aug 31. Full wet weather gear - hood, side screens & tonneau cover. I bought it privately in 2009 (5 previous owners) and it has been dry garaged with a cover in all that time.
I've spent the last 12 months with my mechanic mate (Unit 4 Motors) getting things back in order, replacing many components, including hi-tension leads, plugs, distributor cap, idle control valve, air intake tube, cam belt. It was obviously well put together & looks fantastic on the road with 17" Mille Miglia alloys. There are some stone chips, scratches and small fibreglass damage (see photos), but it is a 20 year old car.
- 2. 0l Pinto EFI
- Tax & MOT Aug 31
- Dax Rush stainless steel exhaust shield
- 17" Mille Miglia wheels
- Continental tyres in good condition
- Willans harnesses
- Full wet weather gear - hood, side screens, tonneauBuilt on Sierra running gear from an ex Ford Motor Company vehicle (JAR was a Ford reg - I worked there for 30 years!) it's a really well built example of a Rush that could be used as it is or upgraded to the crazy examples you see around! I bought it with big ideas about putting a Duratec engine in, but other things in life got in the way! It has been recently discussed on the Dax Rush Facebook group, with the original Dax employee confirming he built it! The Dax website stickers are still on the car as well.
I've owned the Rush since 2009, but must sell as moving to Australia soon.
