Description
The car was built by Dave Brookes .
David Brookes first started building Cobra replicas in 1992, alongside an existing business servicing, repairing, and restoring classic cars
His first Cobra was a Cortina-based, Rover V8-powered car. After enjoying it for a while, he advertised it and attracted interest from Germany. A German Cobra replica dealer bought it and asked if DB could supply new left-hand drive cars, which led Dave to build Dax Cobras initially in batches of 5 — which quickly became an ongoing order. He then phased out his repair and servicing work to focus entirely on building Cobras
Over the following years, DB built over 35 left-hand drive Cobras for the German and European market. By 1997, currency fluctuations made European supply difficult, so he pivoted to the UK retail market. To date, he has built over 150 Dax Cobras, many for repeat customers
