Beschreibung
Offered for sale is my very clean 1980 (Canley built) Triumph TR7 convertible in Red with recent black hood and fawn interior. Considerable body restoration and repaint carried out with photographic record around 2015 with thousands of pounds of invoices for this and other parts relating to body and mechanics. Whilst the invoices and recorded history show no evidence of a total engine rebuild it must be said that the unit performs well with no sign of excessive wear or oil consumption. This is a matching numbers car so all appears original which adds to the authenticity. Since most of the work was completed the car has not been used very much and the owner I purchased it from had hardly driven it due to the Covid period. I drove the car home over 140 miles with no issues at all on a hot summers day.
Since my ownership I have fitted new road springs and front shocks to original spec in order to make the car more comfortable on Britains broken and pot holed roads. The stiffer springs fitted at some time in the past are still available with the car should the new keeper prefer them but I find the handling very good without them. Rear shocks are adjustable and have therefore been left on the car.
I have also replaced the steering rack with a new unit, thermostat and temperature sensor, top hose and coolant. Also the main light switch and multi stalk switch for indicators, horn high and low beam and headlamp flash. There are also invoices in the file for the water pump and timing chain amongst many other things.
Electrics on these cars can often be a source of problems and these have been checked throughout the car. Most problems come from dirty or damaged connections in the wiring loom. These have all been checked and all fitments are now working with exception of the radio and reversing lights which are not connected and the clock which works intermittently.
The car has proved itself reliable, fun and comfortable without breaking the bank.
I am only offering it for sale due to close family health problems. As a result I no longer have the time to drive and enjoy the car which for me, is the reason for having it. I will be very sorry to see it go.
Please make contact with me first to view either by phone or email. Always a good idea to see and experience it first before make an offer!
Thanks.
