Triumph Trident T160V in very good, original and unrestored condition with the original matching engine and frame numbers. This machine has been owned by me for the last 26 years. It still has the original labels and stickers under the seat and has never been out in the rain. Everything on the bike works as it should and it starts on the kick starter and the electric starter. I bought the machine with only 15, 854 miles on the clock and the current and accurate speedometer mileage is 17, 909, the bike doesn't get that much usage but is carefully stored in a dry and warm garage.
This machine was originally a US bike imported from Ohio in 1990 with 14, 460 miles on the clock and registered in the UK. Records show that at that time the tank was resprayed, UK bars fitted and a +20 thou rebore were carried out. It was sold by Sothebys at the Stafford Bike Show auctions in April 1991. As the third owner I purchased the bike privately in 1997. It comes with a TR3 Owners Club dating certificate confirming dates of manufactures etc.
Recently the bike has had new front and rear hydraulic master cylinders and hoses fitted together with a fresh battery and an engine oil and filter change.
There is a small paint chip on the left side of the tank in the knee area and the rear mudguard has some chrome bubbling on the left hand side behind the number plate. There is a crack in the left silencer round one of the seams underneath the silencer, its difficult to see it.
I have The original folder bound workshop manual that originally came with these bike together with the Ohio title and Sothebys auction records. I have MoT certs up to the end of 1999 after which the bike was SORN'ed and kept in my dry warm garage under cover. It has been taxed for the past 3 years but gets SORN'ed every winter having very limited use in the summer.
The front and rear tires have ample tread but are probably past their ride by date by now for serious road riding, I have never changed the tires, other than that the bike is ready to ride. The bike came to me with a Boyer Bransden electronic ignition fitted, there are currently better electronic ignitions out there on the market now that were not there back in the day. The T160V is arguably the best of the Triumph triples coming with super smooth triple engine driving through a 5 speed gearbox, disc brakes all round, indicators, electric starter all wrapped up in sleek styling. This machine is totally unmolested and original other than for the recent master cylinders and braided hoses and electronic ignition, very rarely does a bike this original present itself.
