MGB GT LE verified by the BHMIT as a genuine matching registration, engine & chassis numbers car and is production number 103 of 580 GTs and number 386 of the total LE production run. Built on 04. 09. 1980, it is correctly registered as a historic vehicle and is Tax and MOT exempt. The odometer shows a mileage of 22, 000 which is not guaranteed but verified by MOT history back to 2005.
The car is in original LE specification with the following upgrades: Dealer fitted Webasto sunroof. Front and rear adjustable shock absorbers. Electronic ignition & sports coil. Thermostatically controlled electric fan. Pioneer CD radio & speakers. Moto Lita steering wheel. The interior trim is now a beautiful unmarked biscuit leather (original cost over £2000).
The car underwent a significant refurbishment in Aug 2019 at a cost of over £3500 including braking system, suspension, new clutch, rear axle, underbody, bumpers, new cabin underlay & sound proofing, fuel system (including full carburettor rebuild) and engine tune. Some new panels (rear valance, Front ‘D’ Panels) and all rot cut away and replaced with new metal.
There is a comprehensive photo file of the refurbishment. The car also comes with an extensive research / history file compiled by the previous owner including previous works carried out showing bills for over another £4000. This car is structurally and mechanically sound and I have used it as my summer daily driver with no problems. It starts, drives, steers and stops really well with fully functioning overdrive in 3rd & 4th gear.
The car is not 'concours' as is reflected in the price but it is a good value usable daily driver. This is a very original car with sensible (and reversible) modifications for driver comfort and reliability. This is the cheapest MGB GT LE in UK and you will not find one in better condition for the price. It is a really solid car for the money and far more has been spent on this car by me and the previous owner than the asking price.
