1948 Chevy 3100 pick up rat rod
This truck is bare metal but has been lacquered using a Matt sealing lacquer it has a lovely patina to it, the side steps have been Shultz black. We also apply a wax to the body once a year.
This truck has been intensely modified to a high standard to give an amazing feel and stance. starting with the engine it’s old sluggish straight 6 has been upgraded to a Chevy small block v8 so when you put your foot down it really moves and with the correct suspension drives really well.
The truck has been fitted with air suspension the rear an axle from a camero with custom shock absorbers and air bags and the front a heidts kit based on a mustang all in perfect condition.
The gearbox is a 3 speed auto with oil cooler.
Power steering has been fitted along with a central locking kit (option to fit an immobiliser if wanted)
The interior is black and in good condition the bench seat can be lifted up for a small storage area and a small glove box In the cab.
Everything works on the truck other than the fuel gauge reads back to from ie empty is full!! (the one thing that’s never been sorted!)
The bed is a wood frame and currently has a van vault bolted down with a trestle that can be used for carrying boards or other items we also have a removable cab which has been made from fibre glass and wrapped to look like the exterior of the truck we have used this for a camping trip and it cost a lot of money to have made a true one off!
The truck has been serviced and maintained to the highest standard with no expense spared and any issue have been repaired or upgrade to increase reliability, this truck is a show piece but can be used on a long journey it’s been to Goodwood from London a couple of times to many shows and events and trips down to the coast We have covered almost 6k miles I. It since we bought it.
The truck is going to be having a service and check over next week to make sure all is good and ready for the next owner.
