Here is my December 1982 Triumph TSX 750cc in Gypsy (Candy Apple) Red, one of only 371 made during the last days of
Meriden, 200 of which were sent to the United States. This example is one of only 100 that remained in the UK.
There are plenty of references to refer to, about the history of these machines before closure of the Triumph
works. They are very sought after, their rarity being of such great appeal.
I have had this beautiful motorcycle for twenty years, but much of its time has been spent in storage. I haven't covered
many miles on it, fewer than 1, 000. I fitted a new Veglia speedometer 600+ miles ago to replace a pattern one that
was fitted that I wasn't happy with. I also have fitted a new battery August '23
I have recently serviced it and it runs very well with its original Lucas Rita ignition and is in beautiful condition
for a 40 year old motorcycle.
I have never had the engine apart, just the primary case to check the clutch. The TSX has matching numbers.
The primary drive is belt driven, supplied by Tony Hayward.
The primary belt has just been replaced with a specification one made by SYNCHROFLEX.
It has twin Amal MkII concentrics rather than the unreliable Amal-made Bings, as fitted at the factory.
The TSX has its Morris Mag wheels, with AVON Roadrunner tyres fitted.
There are TOGA exhaust pipes rather than the original muffled ones, giving it a classic Bonneville sound.
The tank is the original Italian made one and although after market chrome mudguards are fitted, I have the
original painted TSX ones included in the sale.
There is a Shadowfax oil filter canister conversion fitted, which takes a standard Commando filter, which adds to
engine life. This example by consensus, sounds very sweet.
As for mileage, what I can see from the history, is that it has done fewer than 28, 000 miles (around 27, 000)
although the exact number is unknown.
Please look at the photos which constitute part of the description.
A rare chance to own part of Triumph's Meriden history.
And of course, the TSX is road fund licence, ULEZ and MOT free.
Viewing in Poole, Dorset.
£8, 550 ono.
Cash on collection only. No time wasters or cyber tyre kickers, thank you. I have loved this quirky Meriden 'American designed' classic and due to my having too many other motorcycle jobs to do, it is time to say good bye to this machine.
As some have said, "TSX - the coolest motorcycle in the world".
