Description
For sale is a very rare Triumph 'display' chassis. Triumph are believed to have built a number of these to use as display and teaching aids around the globe.
This one spent its life at Boston technical college in Lincolnshire
AoHE (Association of Heritage Engineers) purchased the chassis and since that time with the help and skills of the apprentices of the Heritage Skills Academy (HSA) & Classic Project shop in Bicester it has been completely restored to running and driving order.
HSA have since developed a number of training pieces and wanted to see the chassis preserved in its restored state.
I seems a shame to have it in storage so I have decided to sell the display chassis to help fund the current apprentice led project ( a formula supervee )
The chassis was stripped back to bare metal and repainted, the engine and gear box serviced, the entire suspension stripped, painted and rebutted, new shock absorbers, wheels refurbished, radiator re-cored, so quite literally nut, bolt and master cylinders.
1200cc engine, transmission and rear diff that I can only guess at having done less than a couple of miles all told in its lifetime.
It is in superb condition and would make a fantastic part of any collection.
It has been offered to a number of museums, all of whom declined for reasons of space.
Being sold at cost only to help fund the next project.
