2009 ac ace v8 brooklands

a very rare oportunity to own one of just 46 ac ace brooklands v8's ever made. this is the revised 'series 3' of which it is believed only 12 were made. this particular vehicle was purchased in unassembled form from the ac factory in 2003 with hi tech mix of carbon fibre / fibreglass body panels, aluminium doors and sills mounted to a reynard designed chassis. the current keeper has owned the ac for the past 10 years as part of his private collection and used rather sparingly indeed with circa 3, 000 miles covered since the car was registered in 2009. she benefits with having the removeable hard top as well as a black mohair soft top stowed away.

the ac is powered by the tried and tested ford 302cu 5. 0 h/ o v8 crate engine as featured in the ac cobra and ford mustang developing circa 300bhp driving the rear wheels through the t5 manual gearbox and btr hydratrack lsd. the 5. 0 v8 engine was sourced and fitted in 2005 with approx 10, 600 miles. the engine itself purrs as you would expect, a lovely v8 rumble with a quick turn of pace when required. nothing untoward to report while driving, taking the bumps of the road in its stride, sharp steering with great feedback, positive gearbox and clutch combination and a superb driving position make this ac ace a rewarding drive and a comfortable cruiser. certainly turns a few heads! suffice to say she starts, idles, handles and brakes all as you would expect, and possibly better.

the exterior bodywork is very straight and honest for its years, free from nasty dents or unsightly scratches, the paintwork is very bright and more than presentable with a deep glossy shine. there are some minor areas of micro blistering and small imprefections in the paintwork here and there but nothing that detracts from the overall pleasing on the eye appearance. the interior is in decent order for its years, the tan leather seats are free from rips or tears, as are the carpets, dashrboad and trim.

service history wise we have clear files with previous mot certificates, parts replacement bills and service invoices. the ac will be sold with a new mot and a fresh oil service so she is ready to be enjoyed by its new owner. we have taken the ac to a few cars and coffee mornings locally and to haynes motor museum where she was on display in the paddock along with our tvr 420se, the 2 hour round trip drive was great, no issues encountered and was a fun drive through the countryside.
