Beschreibung
I bought this car 6 years ago from my friend who owned it for a good 10 years plus. It has been off the road for quite some time but has had a lot of recommissioning done while in my ownership. The idea was to get it on the road, drive it round for a bit and sell it. Life and work has gotten in the way of that. I need to focus on other things, plus it's got a bit boring moving it in and out of my workshop most days for years. It currently has no MOT and has not been tested on the road so will want collecting on a trailer or recovery truck for you to finish off and take it to whatever level you want.
It starts, stops, and steers. It's got some dodgy older paint, chips, scratches, dents etc, worst dents in the drivers door. From a rust point of view there are a couple of holes around where the sunroof drains exit behind the rear bumper and a spot above the drivers rear 1/ 4 window. The tailgate has been repaired at some point and has some rust around the inside. The rest of the car appears solid and is a great candidate for a repaint without spending a fortune on corrosion repair. The only parts which have been repainted since I've had it are the grille and exterior plastic trims on the sunroof as all the paint was flaking off. The bodykit was treated with a plastic dye (not a spray) to get the colour back all consistent.
The interior has cleaned up real nice after treating the seats and floor carpet to a shampoo and wet vac. The drivers seat has the usual wear/ splitting on the outer edge and one of the bases on the back seat has what appears to be a cigarette burn. There are a few cracks in the plastic of the instrument cluster surround, but these don't really detract from what is actually a very tidy interior. If I was keeping it I would fit the new reproduction cloth seat covers you can get from France to put it back to original, and in the process would take the interior to another level. The sunroof seal vacuum feature is all working, the glass is all Peugeot marked, and it has the correct original gear knob insert fitted to a new reproduction gear knob, and the electric windows work. Currently fitted is a Phillips radio cassette player, but it also comes with a period Peugeot Clarion radio cassette (untested).
This is what's been replaced with new in the last couple of years but hasn't seen the road yet:

Supplied but not fitted is a new distributor cap, new rotor arm, & 4 x new spark plugs.
Also comes with an owners bookpack (not original to this car), haynes manual, a book about sporting Peugeots for reference, and a load of receipts. The original lights including the Siem spotlight lenses will come with the car, and the original worn ignition barrel is also there as all the locks matched when I got it. You may want to get it rebuilt so one key does all again.
I dropped the engine oil out of it the other day as it had become quite fuelly from moving it in and out short distances all the time, and it was milky. I'm hoping it's just condensation from running it for short periods all this time as I haven't had to top up the coolant more than once since changing it. It was all oil that came out, not water first - so fingers crossed it isn't something else internal. I would suggest a new filter and a couple more oil changes to assess this initially. It's oily around the back of the engine & will leave a drip from time to time, but I haven't cleaned this off to see where it's coming from. As I said, the car is untested and hasn't been out on the road for years. You could repaint it and change the seat covers, or you could just do the minimum to get it back on the road and MOT'd, and drive it as it is without worrying about it picking up a dent in the car park at the local supermarket.
I've been honest with my description in order not to waste your time, so please don't waste mine either. I've priced this according to its condition and the work that's been done. So, if you're expecting a minter then you need to look elsewhere at the many for sale from £12k up. There will be no test drives due to the lack of road use and MOT, but you can manoeuvre it around my small car park. Payment would need to be by bank transfer with cleared funds before the car leaves on whatever form of transport you arrange. What drew me to this car is its originality. It survived the "Max Power" days with its parcel shelf uncut, suspension standard, and even the correct 1. 6 alloy wheels including a matching spare. The only things that aren't factory that I'm aware of are the addition of locking wheel bolts, a remote central locking alarm/ immobiliser system (one motor noisy but it works), and the seats have been swapped out for 1. 9 GTI half leather (my mate did this when he first got it). The engine bay all appears to be original with the factory printed colour code and stickers present. Sensible mileage at 122, 000.
