Drives very well, ZF auto box is a vast improvement over the original Borg-Warner 3 speed. Lower revs when cruising. Improved fuel economy. Much smoother change. ( I previously owned a Stag 3 speed auto in the 1990’s, It was so crude I changed to a manual gearbox with overdrive. ). See my documents page with link to Tate & Lewis Facebook page.
I have been told that the Mk1 cars were made with better & thicker steel so they are less prone to corrosion. This car was wax injected from new.
MOT tester invited me to look underneath while on ramp. He showed be that there was no visible corrosion and commented on how solid the car was.
Please telephone me for more information or to view. Manchester.

Please note: When I bought this Stag I used the Online MOT History Check. This returned past MOTs back to 2006.
I took the car for a new MOT. When I then went online to see it it was the only one listed. I telephoned VOSA to see why and was told that as the cars VIN / Chassis number was only 5 digits LD669 their system did not recognise it ( modern cars have 15 digits ). They told me they could see the old MOT history and they would correct this error but it would take 2 weeks as there was a backlog. As I do have 39 old paper MOT certificates this should not be an issue but please call me if you need more information on this. Beautiful Mk1 Stag 3 L V8 4 speed ZF automatic with Hardtop
