Greetings classic ford enthusiast!
After 19 years of ownership, the time has come to sell my trusty RS2000 Mk. 6. With only 2 owners from new (1996), she was my daily runner from 2004 to 2015 and has been dry garaged for the past 8 years... waiting for restoration time.
Sadly, I have finally realised that I will never get around to doing this project, so it’s time now to move her on to somebody who can bring her back to former glory. Could that passionate restorer be you, or somebody you know?
As a project, this RS has great potential because most of the work required is floor pan and bodywork related. Unfortunately, the underside is soft with rust. The reason this happened is because I had it undersealed in the wintertime (2005), which sealed in the moisture. With hindsight it was a very stupid thing to do. However, as a younger impatient man, I didn't realise the implications back then. So, whilst investigating my options a couple of years ago, I was told it could be welded up, if I was to restore her I would look at sourcing a new shell. On the upside, the car rolls and runs well.

PhilRare - As I understand it, there are less than 450 of these RS2000 2WD in existence.
Private plate included.
A head turner; attractive shaped and beautiful in Petrol Blue.
Reliability - Overall the years, it never broke down and left me stranded. Ever.
Original condition - I deliberately kept her as standard as possible. Clear side repeaters is only modification! I did a few shows in 2005 and you can notice the photos with the bonnet up to see how well she looked - and could look again!
Saying that, it has a de-cat pipe in the exhaust system now. I put it in for the last few months I ran it daily, simply because the cat. collapsed and I had the pipe lying around, a gift from the first owner, so gave it a go. Great sounding burble!
