Biarritz Sports And Classic Cars (BSCC) has the pleasure of presenting this Ford ****** RS2000 MKII Group 2. The ****** RS2000 was the sporty version of the range. Equipped with the famous 8-valve engine, it was marketed with a power of 110hp. After the MK I, victorious in the European Rally Championship in 1968 and 1969, the MKII was crowned World Rally Champion in 1979 with Björn Waldegård and in 1981 with Ari Vatanen. This Ford ****** is a true RS2000 (Australian manufacture) with RS2000 registration. It has remained in its owner's hands since 1976. The owner, a renowned driver in the South‑West, has given it a fine track record: - 2nd in Group 2 at the French Championship for tarmac rallies Bayonne Denek Batt 1983 - 2nd in the Scratch overall at the Adour Pyrénées Regional Rally - 1st in the Scratch overall at the Côte Basque Historic Rally 2010 - 1st in the Scratch overall at the Côte Basque Historic Rally 2011 - 4th in the Scratch overall at the Vasco Navarro Historico Rally 2011 - 1st in the Scratch overall at the VHRS Bordeaux Aquitaine Classic 2012 The body of this ****** was prepared to David Sutton's specifications. Engine: - Type ***** engine develops 190hp. - 205 block, lightened crankshaft and flywheel. Balanced clutch mechanism, Trimétal ACL bearings - Burton Stage 3 cylinder head, with large valves, double valve springs (80 kg). - Kent HT1E cam, with timing 53-79-89-43, adjustable pulley. - Forged aluminium pistons, short skirts, H-beam connecting rods, ARP bolts, Cometic head gasket. - High-pressure Sierra Cosworth oil pump, aluminium sump with large capacity, oil cooler. - 2 vertical Weber 44IDF carburettors, 4-branch large-diameter exhaust - 123 Ignition distributor (with 2 curves recorded), high-capacity coil, - Aluminium water radiator Group 4, electric fan controlled by thermostat, - Large-diameter exhaust line, Burton. - Lambda sensor with dashboard wealth/ mixture gauge. Gearbox - 5-speed gearbox type N9 (Sierra origin) with 1st gear lengthened, - Sintered metal clutch disk and Sierra mechanism, - The gear tunnel in the chassis is fitted with access panels to remove and replace the gearbox in 1/ 2 hour (David Sutton assembly). Rear axle - Reinforced Banjo-type axle. Wheel shafts reinforced in two parts Quaife - Self-locking Salisbury-type differential, 8x125 pinion, - Adjustable axle linkages, adjustable Panhard rod, - Transmission shaft with intermediate bearing. Brakes: - Front discs 245 mm ventilated with Wilwood 4-piston calipers, Carbone Lorraine pads. - Rear discs non-ventilated with Sierra Cosworth calipers, Carbone Lorraine pads. - Hydraulic handbrake. - Pedal box kit allowing bias adjustment AV/ AR while driving. - Aviation-style brake lines.
