Volkswagen entered the sports car market back in the mid-1950s with a car that had all the right ingredients. Italian-designed and German-engineered, the excellent Karmann Ghia utilised the drivetrain and chassis from Volkswagens Beetle but re-packaged into a sleek, stylish and seductive sports car that is widely considered one of the most beautiful Volkswagens produced. The Ghia has become a hit with enthusiasts worldwide, all looking for that opportunity to own one of these exceptional cars.
This 1973 example was first imported into the UK in 1988 and has benefited from a historic restoration including a respray, interior retrim and engine upgrade. Accompanied by a moderately documented history, the car is presented in good condition with some age-related blemishes present. It would make an ideal car for someone looking to apply some finesse and perfection to the vehicle.
