I am offering for sale my beautiful 1979 Citroën Mehari 4 seater which has been fully restored and refurbished.
Every part is either new or restored to like-new condition - no attention to detail has been omitted, even the original factory stickers are present. See below (and the invoices in the photo gallery) for a list of items that have been replaced/ renewed.
- Brand new bodywork in correct ABS moulded plastic - not the original repaint!
- New top quality canopy/ roof and chassis from Mehari Club Cassis.
- New wheels (painted gloss black) with new Maxxis tyres.
- The chassis is the original item which was in perfect condition and has simply been stripped, epoxied and finished in the correct satin black colour.
- A new stainless steel exhaust system
- New black vinyl seats, attractive and practical.
- New steering wheel
- A new bespoke polished wood gear knob - it's a real work of art.
- New speedometer (less than 140 kms since the restoration (the old speedometer read around 43, 000)).
- New front and rear lights
- New front and rear bumpers
- Completely rebuilt engine and gearbox
The roadworthiness test was carried out less than a month ago and is valid for 5 years (Carte Grise Collection for vehicles over 30 years old).
This little Mehari really stands out for its fantastic colours and, of course, its unique and timeless design, capturing the essence of an era when cars were fun and not just a means of getting from point A to point B!
The asking price of €23, 500 does not cover the cost of building the car so I think it is justified vs. other similar cars for sale currently.
