Possibly the best Citroen Light 15 available, with very low ownership and mileage, many upgrades and in stunning condition - some £60, 000+ has been spent on this car!
During the last person's ownership (some 35 years!) the car was totally stripped and rebuilt with major rustproofing, many mechanical updates and all new leather seats, headlining and trim. The car is superb!
The underside of the shell, wings and wing apertures were all sprayed with a Tectyl/ Waxoyl mix, with all cavities in the bodyshell injected with the same mix.
Front and rear axles replaced with new torsion bar silent blocks.
ENGINE - A 1911 cc 'D' engine block was sourced, stripped, crank reground, new main and big end bearings, 'D' conrods, new pistons and liners, 'D' oil pump, flywheel and clutch. A refurbished 11D cylinder head was fitted.
GEARBOX - An SCD modified 4 speed 'D' gearbox is fitted along with new type double driveshafts
BRAKES - New cupro-nickel brake pipes, new wheel cylinders and master, SCD modified self-aligning brake shoes and a 7 inch inline brake servo - great brakes!
EXHAUST - Stainless steel system fitted.
BUMPERS - All rechromed.
INTERIOR - All seats professionally recovered in leather, new door cards, new beige roof lining, new carpets, wooden dash stripped and revarnished etc.
ELECTRICS - New wiring loom, new starter motor, Lucas dynamo and voltage control box. Re-chromed headlamp bowls, LED flashing trafficators along with LED indicators and hazard warning lights.
The car drives really well and because of the extra power and 4 speed gearbox, keeps up with modern traffic even on motorways.
A joy to drive. This stunning car has had just three previous owners from new! Since 1949! The first owner had the car until 1971, the second until 1988, and the third owner (who is an acknowledged Citroen expert) from 1988 to 2023 - 35 years!
During this 35 year ownership, the car was totally stripped and rebuilt with modern upgrades including a four speed gearbox, updated engine and power brakes.
Recently I drove the car some 500 miles from Aboyne (near Aberdeen) to Surrey without any problems or issues whatsoever.
Despite not requiring an MOT test, the car is newly tested.
The car comes with its original buff log book showing the original owners!
