This is a very special car indeed.
A superb, early 1999 3 door Golf GTI 1. 8 with the rare AGU engine in stunning Black Magic Pearl (LC9Z).
The car was imported into the UK from Brussels at the end of 1999 by Mr Clayton of Uxbridge and kept until 2004.
Mr Clayton then passed the car on to his mother who became the second owner who proceeded to keep the car for a further 18 years.
I am the third owner and purchased the car from Mrs Clayton in October 2022.
The car will be sold with the private plate V18 DUB which was specially sourced by Mr Clayton right back in 1999 and has remained with the car ever since. At the same time he sourced an incredibly rare genuine Oettinger rear spoiler. You will not find another one of these for sale anywhere.
The car is in incredible condition for its age (24 years old) and all the body panels still have their original paint. You must therefore expect blemishes and age related marks but please understand that this is a car that has not had any paint correction work and I do not believe you will find a better more original example in this kind of condition.
The wings are original and rust free and the sills are also free from any rust and also in perfect undamaged condition. They have not suffered from the common issue of being jacked up poorly over the years and being bent out of shape.
The interior of the car is in superb condition. The grey/ black cloth Recaro embossed seats are excellent with no bolster sag or heavy wear. Everything inside is original including the stereo/ cd player.
It has a rare electric sunroof which works perfectly.
The boot carpet area is immaculate.
The alloy wheels are 17" diamond cut Audi TT competition wheels, of the same era, which suit the car very well. As these were also sourced by the original owner in the early 2000s I decided to leave them on as it seemed right that they should remain with the car as they have done for the majority of its life.
On 4th August this year I had the following work carried out - all at 93, 685 miles (invoice provided):-
Gates Timing Belt and Water Pump kit fitted
LUK Clutch Kit with Dual Mass Flywheel fitted
Crankshaft Seal fitted
Full Service
The current MOT runs until 31st July 2024. All MOT's are present in paper form right back to the very first one.
There is much paperwork and history with the car including the original stamped service book and owners pack/ wallet.
It comes with 2 original key fobs plus the master key and code.
This really is a very rare and special collectors car and you would be very hard pushed to find something better.
Black, 3 door, 1. 8 turbo, AGU engine with superb original bodywork, sunroof, private plate and possibly one of the only MK4 Golfs with an original Oettinger spoiler!
The car is still in very light use so the mileage will increase slightly.
