It is a Mitsubishi Evo 8 RS finished in Cool Silver (A31). This is the only Evo 8 RS that was finished in silver in the world at the manufacture.
The story behind the Evo 8 RS.
The Evo 8 RS (Rally Sport) was introduced for production focusing on the motorsport market in 2004/ 2005. It gave the opportunity for motorsport teams throughout the world an opportunity to build a race/ rally car that only required a basic effort to become competitive. It come with no soundproofing, no ABS, no AYC, Steel wheels, basic brake package, basic sports seats and central locking/ power windows were removed.
All being said, during the manufacture there was options that could be added on to these vehicles. AYC, Alloys, Electric windows, central locking and Brembo brakes.
There was rumoured to be 332 RS versions made for the worldwide market including America. Out of all these models most were painted in white. 2 in red, one in black and our one in silver
This Evo we have was manufactured in Japan for a customer who specially ordered it from Germany. It was then exported to Ireland and then onto the UK where it has been dry stored for a few years. This Evo has some subtle upgrades which were carried out at the factory during the build. It has AYC, Electric windows, Brembo Brakes, Enkei Alloys and Central locking fitted from the manufacture which was specially requested during the build of the car.
This car has remained standard its whole life and from what we believe has been enjoyed as a road car only. It has had it front seats upgraded to Evo 8 Recaros but the back seat remains the original RS seat which still has the plastic from the manufacture.
We have carried out a full service on the car, including the timing belt by the local Mitsubishi dealership. It also went under minor restoration, which was powder coating the alloys in black, re lacquer the rear spoiler and detailing the body work. It also has no underseal on it which shows the whole underside as it should be.
The car is also untouched on the dials which are still in kilometres. Milage is showing 16988kms which converts to 10, 555 miles. This is truly a JDM collectors car at its best being as rare as RS?s are and this one also being the only silver one made of this model.
