A Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII is a legend in itself. With its uncompromising rally technology, its advanced four-wheel drive and its powerful turbo engine, the model is today an icon among car enthusiasts, and one of the most sought-after collector's items in Mitsubishi's history. But this particular example differs in a way that makes it completely unique.
This car was delivered new directly to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark in 2004, who is today His Majesty King Frederik X. The original Danish registration certificate is included and documents its royal history. In fact, the car has never been registered to anyone other than the King himself.
Around 8, 000 of the total 14, 000 kilometers were driven by King Frederik during the first year of ownership, after which the car was sold on to the second owner, who has only covered approximately 5, 000 kilometers in 20 years of ownership. The result is an example in exceptional condition, with extremely low mileage and a history that makes it extremely special.
As an extra detail, the original Mitsubishi motor magazine is also included, which contains pictures and a report from the official handover of the car to the then Crown Prince at Fredensborg Castle. The car is sold with European papers and VAT paid.
