Hello there,
Here for sale is my Mk2. 5 MX5 finished in Strato Blue Metallic (incl. Hardtop). I had originally bought this as a bit of a project to modify however I have since got it up to a good condition and my circumstances have changed, with a bit more travelling required at my new job than I'd like in an MX5! Such a fun little car, and I have enjoyed driving it over into Wales for various drives, to Silverstone (Hasn't been driven on track), and plenty of B roads, all with no problems. It has been garage-stored in my ownership. Whilst later in my ownership than i'd have liked, I did make an Instagram account tracking the past few months work and posting various photos whilst out on spirited drives. The handle for this is 'mx5. curtis' if you would like to see a few more photos etc. In my just over 2 years of ownership I have carried out a lot of work, ensuring it is well maintained as well as the obligatory Full service every year, the most recent service being 6th November 2023. This works includes:
- New battery
- New Cambelt
- Rear Brake pipes
- New Coil packs
- Replacement of original faulty engine for identical 1. 8 VVT engine
- Welding works to rust underside
- Rear Brake discs/ drums/ pads
- Stubby aerial
- Wheel Alignment & new tyres
- New catalytic converter, Exhaust, Manifolds, etc/
There are some bad bits, as with most cars coming up to 20 years old. I have photographed and included but for clarity the bits that will need chipping away at to make it perfect are as follows:
- Bonnet - The paint to the centre appears matte/ faded slightly.
- Rear boot lid/ number plate light - Left side light popped out of position so I have temporarily taped it over.
- Rear wheel arches/ sills - Bit of rust starting to show around both left and right side sills, as outlined in the advisories section of the recent MOT.
