Ford Capri 2. 8injection (2. 9 Cosworth)
If I had a bigger garage, I wouldn’t be writing this ad.
I’ve had the car for over 8 years, and just turned 90k miles.
11 months MOT. It was 40 years old in August, so historic status can be applied for this month, for free road tax and MOT exception.
History file is pretty substantial, going back to the 90’s.
Most MOT certificates, apart from a short gap here and there, so been roadworthy all its life.
Looks wise; the car is a standard 5 speed. There’s not a Cosworth badge to be seen, which is the way I wanted it.
A few small things have been changed inside, but all original interior parts will come with the car, if you chose to revert back to factory.
RS 4 spoke steering wheel, Tickford style centre console to accommodate modern stereo. Interior is in good order. No extra speakers holes in doors or parcel shelf.
A couple of the gauges don’t work properly; No surprise there, but spare dash pod etc. comes with the car.
Body-
Very good order. Has a few minor flaws, that don’t detract from its condition.
Alloys are decent, and tyres are nearly new.
Reproduction original dealer plates, dealer sticker and period tax disc.
Decent RGA spoiler, but there’s a very good original that will come with the car.
Standard 2. 8 injection decals and stripes. Rare FX4 taxi passenger mirror to match the factory drivers side.
Brakes/ Suspension etc-
Fully refurbed Princess 4 pots, with stainless pistons and Mintex pads, braided hoses, Lockheed rear shoes, new fluid.
Standard suspension, but rear has had new shocks and springs. Lowering blocks will come with the car.
Brand new Blackline LSD, 3” exhaust which makes a nice noise imo.
Engine & Box-
Full spec on request; it’s too long.
Fully rebuilt 2. 9 Cosworth by Top Boss in Derby. Photo evidence of rebuild and documented receipt for all work done, at a cost of over 8 grand. Engine hasn’t even been run in. Done about 700 miles. Oversized stainless tubular manifolds, polished and ported heads, uprated injectors.
Approx 240bhp and mega torque; not proven.
Adjustable electric fan.
Newly built hybrid MT75 gearbox, quickshift kit and Escort Cosworth clutch.
