1966 Morgan Drophead Coupé

Build #6067

Rare high spec +4 variant with suicide doors
(~ 433 produced )Depends who you ask.
Most were imported to USA.
Originally sold by Fergus Motors NY.
Spent most of its life in Southern California and North Carolina.
Imported with my personal goods 2019. Valid V5 registered and insured.
Extensive sympathetic restoration in 2020-21 (Covid project)
Converted to RHD at this time with correct parts. Bare metal respray.
Aston Martin db11 racing green with Jaguar racing green wings. Paintwork is exceptional. Original paint was green from factory
Triumph TR4 2. 2 engine, Moss gearbox, SU HS6 carbs.
Numbers matching car with Morgan build sheet provided. Bonnet and other panels have engine # stamped in them.
Ash framework restored keeping as much original wood as possible. New Ash wood dovetailed in to original good wood. All woodwork and restoration done by myself a violin maker by trade.  Chronology of restoration pics on request.
Seats are original with proper patina. Interior woodwork all new, due to LHD to RHD switch, made from one plank to insure color match.
Car spent most of its life in Southern California. No rust noted anywhere during restoration.
All chrome work is original to the car with the exception of the window frames which were expertly repaired and re-chromed to a high standard. The window glass (yes, glass)in the doors is original and factory tinted.
Stainless exhaust, electronic distributor, alternator and high torque starter, gryphon aluminum radiator, urethane gearbox mounts.
New bespoke mohair hood crafted by Allon White  trimmers.  Very nice and tidy with zip down rear window.
Good collector car will only increase in value.
Last picture is how it came to me. Original color was dark green from factory.
Reason for sale due to can’t negotiate reverse hinged doors with present health condition.

£30, 000 ONO or preferably an even trade for a tidy plus 8 (preferably pre 1984 carbeurated).
Call me if interested. This is a very attractive Morgan with its high spec features. Note the filler pieces between front bumper and body. Probably the only one with these. Morgan lost money on everyone of these dropheads due to the additional body work.
Virtually a new car with the lovely patina leather smell. Is currently insured (agreed value £45k) and valid v5 in my name. Everything works as it should and drives very well. I have a lift for underside inspection. You won’t be disappointed. No moving on the price. So please don’t ask.
