1940 Ford Sedan Hot Rod £12, 500 ONO
US built '40 Ford, imported into UK in 2018 but used very little since.
Please excuse the grubby appearance, it's gathered dust in my garage for the last 2 years or so, but it cleans up like a new pin. Started on second push of the button; the 5 litre ford V8 seems bullet proof.
The body has been rebuilt with what looks to be new wings and running boards, the interior was fitted in the US in black and is excellent. Suicide rear passenger doors. A few little imperfections to the rear of the body but overall, when polished it looks fantastic. For a car that was built before the attack on Pearl Harbour, 83 years ago, it's super. (Actually the car would look really good at WW2 events as well as Hot Rod meets)
Fantastic Hot Rod stance; being lowered about 3 inches with whitewall tyres fitted before import.
I believe the front end to be a competition Mustang clip. It's been well engineered. Power steering and power disc brakes. Edelbrock Air Cleaner and valve covers shine up like new.
The car was built as a cruiser with 3 speed auto but for those who wish, the engine/ gearbox can easily be hopped up for more speed.
Even so, the exhaust system sounds awesome.
In the 5 years I've had it I've only driven her about 200 miles, which is the basic reason I am selling her. In the three or four outings I was actually asked by two couples if I could make her available for their weddings! which I did. At its first and only show in Ashby it won best competition modified. This is a great opportunity to purchase a 'Black Widow' at a sensible price.
It would be best to trailer the car home after inspection. Having been laid up for some time it will need a service/ check over before being driven long distances.
