Description
1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti 1600
Very early car with the bench front seat, smaller side repeaters, and early instrument binical. Finished in AR103 Ivory, with contrasting red interior.
Previously owned for over 30 years by veteran Alfa Romeo racer Louis Parsons, as part of his Alfa Romeo collection. It was restored in the early 2000s, which included new floor panels, inner wing panels, front panel, new fuel tank, new wiring, new bumpers and other chrome work, new rubbers, various suspension components, braking system overhauled, including upgrade to Giulia Super front discs and pads (as opposed to drums), new exhaust, and repainted in its original colour.
Imported from South Africa and correctly registered in the UK in 2021, it has had over £4000 spent since on further enhancements, including a re-trim to the front seats, a new period Nardi Steering wheel, a major service, including all fluids, plugs, brakes including new braided hoses, valve adjustments and new shims, as well as an overhaul on the Solex carburettor. An extensive suspension upgrade using the Veloce Sport fast road kit (Koni Adjustable shocks with Eibach springs, New spring pan seats and pan bushes) various new suspension bushes, a larger front anti roll bar. It has also just had a new set of 15" GTA wheels (in the correct Giulia size and offset) with new Toyo Proxes in the Alfaholics recommended size. The only visible external modifications I have made is the removal of the inner headlamps, and replaced them with mesh grills, I have also added the cloverleaf stickers on each side (correctly handed) These can easily be reverted back to standard, I have kept the parts, as well as the original suspension if need be. The private plate comes with the car, and I have had custom pressed aluminium polished number plates made in the correct Italian sizes.
It is an absolute blast to drive, with only 100 BHP, but a low weight, manual, and rear wheel drive, you always feel like more is going on. You have to often remind yourself that it's over 60 years old! Everything works on the car, all the electrics, gauges etc. It passed its last MOT with no advisories, and the previous year's advisories have been dealt with.
It comes with a light history file, with all the invoices for the recent works, you can see what's been done by looking at the car itself. It also has its original brochure, a Giulia owners manual, the original keys, and its original jack in the engine bay.
105 Giulias are really coming of age recently, but still offer value for money in the 105 range. A RHD 1600 step nose coupe of a similar era and spec would likely be £20k more.
Whilst the car is in lovely condition, it is also 61 years old, and the restoration was carried out nearly 24 years ago. Please bare than it mind.
