Description
1983 Golf GTI project car, has had some welding done prior to my ownership- Replaced the passenger side rear arch, small section of the drivers side and a corner of the windscreen frame has a repair. I haven't had it running but the engine turns over by hand. Has the correct 1800 DX engine and 7G gearbox.
Shell is pretty solid, chassis legs are decent, spare wheel tub needs a repair where the rear panel attaches & the rear panel needs replacing. Fuel filler hole is good, sills are good for their age but there are a couple of areas that will require attention. Roof ideally needs changing as there was a glass sunroof which was missing when I bought the car- there is a aluminium panel riveted over the hole at the moment (replacement roof comes with the car). Has a pair of solid genuine VW front wings fitted, inner front wings are solid, tailgate is solid but has had holes for a aftermarket spoiler welded up, and the bonnet is badly dented but comes with a good used genuine bonnet.
Interior is 99% complete, correct GTI steering wheel, MFA clocks, good carpet and decent dash, also has boot carpet and genuine parcel shelf. Drivers seat back needs upholstering, there is fabric for it but its in pieces, the rest of the seats are complete and could be made good with little effort.

-fuel tank (tank straps are there though)

-side trim strips
