Comprehensive restoration of this rare Fiesta 1. 4S - which is very close to completion. The car is now in magnificent condition with a sensitive blend of brand new and reconditioned or just very nicely cleaned up parts.

The bodywork was exhaustive with all rust and rot cut away and new metal let in. All panels were pre-fitted gapped and shaped up to a very high standard. Paint process included epoxy, spray filler where required, primer, correct Stratos Silver base coat and lacquer blocked down between each coat to present a near glass like finish. The lower matt dark grey and body mouldings were treated to similar process and the effect is quite stunning.

Prior to it coming into our hands, the previous owner had spend a great deal on refreshing the engine and it arrived with a new timing belt fitted. We found the buzzy CVH to be in excellent condition with great compression and merely stripped and cleaned up the top end, fitted new ancillaries including a new starter and alternator, serviced the carburettor and carried out a comprehensive factory service with all new fluids, air, fuel and oil filter and generally tidied up the engine and engine bay to reflect the overall condition of the project.

The brakes are new, the suspension is new, the underneath has been cleaned off and recoated with textured flexible stone chip.
the original glass was removed for the restoration and paint and has been refitted with new seals where available and some creative restoration techniques where they are not.

The interior is original and has come up very nicely for a 35 year plus shopping run around that has been seriously neglected in its recent past. New modern sound deadening and fresh underlay complement the new more upmarket carpet and all other interior trim has been restored to the very best it can be without recovering and replacing.

So not fully original, and not concourse and not a complete restoration but as close as you will get with one of these I suspect.
