Description
Unique opportunity for the discerning collector. One of the last RHD Maserati Khamsins. Kept covered in a barn for 36 years with only two previous owners. One of the most fabulous Sports GT cars of the 70’s. The late designer Marcello Gandini considered this design to be, one of, if not his finest work.
Having stood stationary for decades this car will need a mechanical rebuild from bottom to top. Bodywork is solid and will require minor repairs to the bottom of the door skins and attention to a small crease in the lower bonnet area where someone has tried to force the bonnet open from the wrong position! Otherwise, just a back to bare metal repaint. Surprisingly all the rubbers and chrome are in good condition. Interior trim is all present and aside from some leather rejuvenation will give many years of comfort and pleasure. Carpets will need replacing however the headlining is in excellent order.
Make no mistake , this is a serious project involving certain special skills and seemingly not a project for the home mechanic. However, the end result will be a car of gigantic presence and from recent journalistic predictions, a solid investment.
