Description
An extremely original UK-supplied S1 4. 2 E-Type Roadster, presented in its original factory colour of Carmen Red with black leather interior. Driven by John Surtees for Classic and Sports Car magazine.
A full "matching numbers" car which was restored in the mid-1980s and has been unrestored or painted since. This E-Type is in first-class mechanical condition. Cosmetically the car is in superb condition and shows a light patina commensurate with the age of restoration.
The car is exceptionally original with only the following minor upgrades fitted to assist driveability and reliability:
SNG Barrett brake calliper upgrade kit
Luminition Magnetronic ignition
All coolant hoses are matt black silicon.
Wider Dayton tubeless rims fitted with 205/ 70 tyres
A TR4 voltage regulator is fitted with a battery sense relay as fitted to the S2 cars
Solid state SU fuel pump has been fitted (looks and sounds the same as the points version).
Registered as a Historic vehicle, although for the buyer's peace of mind, the car is presented with an MOT valid until August 2024If you're looking for an E-Type roadster you can hop in today, and drive to Geneva and back, then this is the car for you! It also boasts a very interesting history including having been driven by John Surtees for a Classic and Sports Car cover story.
This has been my father's car since the 1990s and has been fastidiously maintained to the highest standards. The E-Type is a veteran of numerous historic trips, including two officially organised trips to Geneva including the 50th anniversary E-Type celebration in 2011.
There is a tremendous amount of documentation and history with the car. My father is only selling due to reduced mobility with his advancing years.
I'm a professional motoring journalist and will be handling the sale on his behalf. Keenly priced for a smooth, clean, hassle-free sale.
