Description
1966 Mustang Coupe in Emberglo with Parchment Pony interior a 331ci upgraded engine and authentic patina. A rust free dry state car that proudly wears its 60 years of history and is mechanically excellent underneath. It is difficult to describe how clean and original the underside of this car is.
There are small dents, scratches, worn paint, less than perfect chrome and some overspray due to a historical repair on the passenger door. It could be an option to re-paint, but it would be a great shame to lose originality and bring with it the added fear of damage whilst in use.
The parchment interior is a great match to the Emberglo paintwork and is in good condition apart from small amounts of wear on the drivers seat.
The larger engine gives it a matching character with a hint of rowdyness. The car can be loud and proud without being overly obnoxious, but is definitely not quiet for long distance journeys. It has bags of character and is just fun for cruising around town or tinkering with in spare time. This car is ideal for a run out to classic car shows and meets.
This car draws positive attention and comments wherever I take it.
I am only selling because I enjoy the restoration/ updating process and have started a new project and need the space. Better that it goes to a new home to be enjoyed rather than collecting dust in the garage.

New crate 331 stroker engine installed in 2020 with an original HiPo appearance/ style:
- Edelbrock Performer cylinder heads with Cobra style rocker covers
- Edelbrock Performer intake manifold
- New Edelbrock 650 1604 carb with electric choke
- Distributor with electronic ignition and Blaster coil
- Edelbrock water pump
- Canton large capacity sump
- Canton crank main cap girdle
- JBA ceramic coated headers

- Clear corrosion protection applied to the underside and inside the chassis members to protect without hiding the originality
- Replacement parts painted where required for correct appearance and protection

- C4 transmission rebuilt and uprated by Andy Frost of Penn Autos
- Replacement propshaft built by Hauser racing
- Refurbished rear axle by Hauser with new Truetrac differential and new 3. 00:1 crown wheel and pinion
- Replacement fuel tank, sender and stainless steel fuel line
- Refurbished heater box with new heater core
- Full OpenTracker suspension setup with new steering links, pivot arms, suspensions arms, roller perches, coil springs, leaf springs, ball joints, ARB, etc.
- Bilstein dampers
- ChocoStang refurbished quick ratio steering box
- American Racing 15” torque thrust wheels and Falken tyres - 8” front and 9” rear
- CRSP front brake disc conversion with new dual circuit master cylinder, discs, calipers, pads and bearings
- Replacement rear drums, shoes and brake cylinders
- Complete replacement of park/ emergency brake system
- Replacement stainless steel brake lines and all new hoses
- New head lamps with side lights
- New wipers and antenna – some new seals where appropriate without disturbing original trim or glass
- Interior in good order with nice carpet and lovely parchment interior – small signs of wear to the driver seat but otherwise in good condition
- New trunk trim and spare wheel cover
