I found the car in Paris, where it had spent 22 years in dry storage. Once back in the UK, the car was inspected and fully recommissioned, passing its first MOT with no advisories. All import duties were paid to HMRC, and a V5 was issued in my name as second owner. Since then, I've managed to cover 54 miles in it in three years, and it's spent much of its time as a static display at the Lotus Factory, being run up and moved onsite as required.
As part of the sale, the car will be fully inspected, fully recommissioned and fully prepared by Stratton Motor Company prior to delivery on a whatever it needs - it gets, basis. I'm not aware of any issues, the car performs and functions perfectly.
As you would expect, it's pretty much perfect as it's not seen much daylight, and I really don't believe it has ever seen rain. The roof bars are as new, and the soft top has barely been out of the stowage bag. The car even still smells new - I was selling these back in 1999 and it takes me right back to my early Lotus career.
This October, the car is eligible for entry into the USA, which allows plenty of time for the preparation that the car needs, or anything extra that the new owner may want in addition. Export and storage can be facilitated prior to shipment to most international markets.
