Description

Putting my Mitsubishi Legnum VR-4 Type-V up for sale, I love it but I can't keep it and I want it to go to someone who can give it the attention it deserves. I bought it from a trader early this year on a whim, I'd always wanted to tick a Legnum VR-4 off my bucket list while there's some still around. I've realised it's too expensive for me to run two cars on my salary, and I don't drive this one as much as I should, so regrettably it has to go.

There are a couple of modifications to the car:
- R-Spec turbo boost gauge
- Brembo front brake calipers
- Genuine Evo 7 GSR wheels
- Hybrid Development International GT2 intercooler

Good points:
- Stacks and stacks of paperwork
- MOT until July
- Last serviced January 2024 at 85, 828 miles using Fuchs Titan Race Pro oil
- Records of services in the UK at 58500, 62845, 65907, 69360, 71974, 76461, 83520, 85828 miles plus Japanese service history book (I can't read it but there are some records in there)
- Cambelt changed in 2020
- 2 keys
- Mechanically sound with no warning lights on dash, engine sounds healthy and gearbox shifts as it should
- The interior is pristine, I don't believe there is any damage to it anywhere aside from one of the air vents missing a piece of plastic
- 4 brand new tyres fitted in March
- Type-V has no AYC system, which seems to be a common issue on VR-4s

Bad points:
- There is some rust, not uncommon on these, most of it's surface, it'd benefit from a bit of welding around the rear arches at some point but I've priced it accordingly. The jacking points are all fine.
- A previous owner told me that the bonnet flew up on a track day and damaged the windscreen and roof. The windscreen was replaced and a new bonnet was sourced, but it was silver, and instead of having it painted the owner decided to wrap it and the roof in a carbon fiber effect vinyl. I presume this is why there are bonnet pins as well.
- One front fog light needs replacing
- Fuel filler door release doesn't work properly but you can still open it
- Handbrake cable needs lubricating I think
- There are a few small dents here and there and a bigger one on the roof

Spend a bit of money on this car and it'll be a lovely low mileage example of a very rare JDM performance estate that turns car enthusiasts' heads everywhere you go in it. If it doesn't sell I will keep it and have the work done myself, but grab a bargain while you still can.

Test drives are welcome with proof of insurance, or I can drive. You are going to love this car. It was imported in 2010 by Ebony & Ivory Motors in Scunthorpe, a Japanese import specialist who imported multiple Legnum VR-4s. The odometer reading was converted into miles and an MPH chip was fitted meaning all readings are in miles. It has a Sony double DIN radio head unit which was installed in the UK. Most of its time in the UK was spent under ownership of members of Club VR-4. Speaking to some other owners of Legnum VR-4s, we believe there's only around 30 of them on the roads in the UK. Facelift cars especially rarely come up for sale. That said, service parts are easy to get from Viamoto and any other parts can be ordered from Amayama.
