Volvo 940 Torslanda 2. 3 LPT
For sale is my 1997 940 Torslanda 2. 3 LPT. The car drives amazingly well and never let me down since I got it. It has FSH with more stamps in the book than there’s place for! The 2. 3 red block engine is smooth and pulls very nicely. No white smoke and sounds like a sawing machine.
During my ownership I’ve replaced front discs and brakes and installed a retro Blaupunkt Skagen radio with Bluetooth. The audio in this car is really good. I’ve replaced the front wiper wire as well. The garage I bought it from put in a new windshield. I’ve also DIY undersealed the underbody.
The car has all electric windows. Tyre condition all good. 2 keys and remotes for central locking.
Bad points. It has a dent in the read quarter that I never got round to fixing. It also has some rust coming on one of the arches and sills.
Good points. It’s an amazing car for the value. The gearbox is smooth (allegedly the best one on these Volvos, the M90), engine is fantastic, and it has a really nice combination of blue exterior and light grey velour interior. I always dreamed about having one of these Volvos - as a child, my Swedish uncle had one and I drove it around the country roads and absolutely loved it. My 940 gives you this amazing feel of driving a piece of history. The gearbox is smooth and the gear changes satisfying. The Light Pressure Turbo pulls this machine confidently from the low revs up. The classic dashboard, steering wheel, the instrument cluster with little analog control lights are amazing to look at. The velour interior matches the dark blue colour perfectly well. Writing this, I almost want to keep it, but I have bought another car and don't have the space to keep the good old 940 anymore.
