For sale is my 1983 RHD Citroen CX Pallas I/ E Auto which I have owned since June 2020.
The car has a great spec and is quite rare to see being a Pallas I/ E Auto. I think it is an ideal spec for a Pallas.
The car has had 8 Former keepers and is in excellent condition, having had rust treatment from new and been very well looked after over its life. I bought the car via marque specialist Dave Ashworth who had known the car for a number of years having looked after it since at least 2014. He described it to me as being in his experience unique in this condition – whether it is unique or not is hard to say but it is certainly in excellent shape. It is not a concourse car but is a very genuine useable car.
It has covered around 60, 300, which is all verified by the various service records and MOTs. With the car is its original identity card and service book as well as confirmation of the optional rust treatment from new, which appears to have been a wise investment. The last service stamp was June 1984 at 5, 000 miles. I also have the MOTs for the car going back to Feb 2001 when the mileage was 25, 381 with only 1 missing MOT for the period between Oct 2002 and June 2003. The car is now showing just below 60, 300 and the intervening MOTs track the mileage to that number.
The car has been known in the Citroen Car Club. Over its life the car has won a number of awards at various Citroen car Club events:

In 2021 the car had 4 new correct Michelin 185HR14 tyres fitted.
The car has is very solid, its bodywork is excellent as it is underneath and it looks and drives incredibly well.
The car is now registered as Historic Class and so is MOT exempt and road tax is free but even though exempt it has just had a new MOT expiring 1st June 2025 and will have a new service. I first saw the car in 2018 when having my DS serviced and so a couple of years later jumped at the chance to buy it. In my view it drives better than a DS but then it is a much more modern design of a car. It is far better for motorway use, more practical with better visibility and more modern features.
After buying the car I had the lights and bumpers removed and doors stripped to correct some paint issues and deal with stone chips and some colour mismatching on one of the doors which we think may have been replaced at some point and that gave us the opportunity to check that there was no rot lurking. The whole car was not resprayed but the paint is now a great match all over and I have the photographic evidence of the work done.
As the CX celebrates its 50th year, it is good to see them being more appreciated. I have enjoyed owning it but have 4 big Citroens and can't drive them all and this is a car that deserves more use.
Although Dave is sadly no longer with us, the guys at Dave's garage in Blackpool know the car well. They have just arranged its latest MOT and are servicing the car and will happily speak about it if helpful and I am sure facilitate a more detailed examination if that is desired.
