Beskrivning
One of only 25 surviving Mk2 Zephyr Farnhams in the UK, it is certainly one of the best. It has perfect panel gaps and is as good underneath as it is on top.
Owned by myself for the last 24 years, this rare Kenyan export model Abbot of Farnham estate conversion of the Mk2 Ford Zephyr was finally recommissioned in late 2021 and won “Best Farnham” at the 2022 “Mk2 Day” club gathering, its first show debut.
The shell has been sandblasted inside and underneath, then had localised repairs as required. All doors and wings have been chemically stripped and then phosphated and the tailgate re-skinned. Almost everything has been either refurbished, renewed or re-chromed and the car comes with a 300 photo restoration album.
The rare one-year-only colour combination of Linden over Lime green, with matching duo-tone green interior, is possibly unique – I have never seen another.
It retains its sympathetically refurbished original interior, which features the rare optional folding front bed seat conversion. It also retains the original Ford factory radio installation.
From June 1961, export-only Zephyrs featured a “Deluxe” specification, including duo-tone paintwork, duo-tone door cards, different styled seat upholstery and a driver’s side parcel shelf. Other export features on this car include an armoured tank guard, sump guard, oil bath air cleaner and heavy duty suspension.
As well as having the desirable font disc brakes (including a recently reconditioned brake servo unit), this car also has the highly sought after optional overdrive gearbox, which transforms the car on motorways. The car also benefits from a reconditioned fuel tank,
poly-bushed rear springs and poly-bushed inner track control arm bushes.
Various useful spares and parts come with the car.
An unrepeatable opportunity to own an extremely rare vehicle in outstanding condition. Viewing recommended.
