First things first this is a very reluctant sale and I wish we could keep the car but it simply doesn't get used enough and deserves a new owner who can get it out to shows we're it should be seen!
The Car has been in my ownership since May 2021 and has been an absolute pleasure to own, I am the third owner of the car with the first owner of the car a lady from the Dagenham area purchasing the car brand new from local ford dealer Allen Ford of Romford in August 1989, we found out that the lady's brother was a salesman at the dealership and managed to get a family discount on the new car which is documented in the original bill of sale in the history file, she would then go on to own the Escort for the next 30 years! Meticulously maintaining the car no matter how big it small the job was it was always carried out at Allen Ford with the Service Book showing 30 main dealer service stamps quite amazing to see nowadays!!!
We can only assume that the car was garaged during the first 30 years of its life for it to have survived in such fantastic original condition!
The car was then sold to a local chap in the Dagenham area in 2019 before coming into my ownership in 2021
As mentioned above this is a very original unrestored example all the panels are original as is the unmarked original blue paintwork the car has never seen a welders torch in its life quite unheard of for a MK4 escort!!!
Since October 2021 the car has been and is currently in storage at a climate controlled facility local to me to keep the car looking it's best
The Car will come with 12 months MOT and a Full service for the new owner upon a sale being agreedOnce upon a time you'd have seen a MK4 Escort Popular on every corner of the local street or the local supermarket car park there was one in every family! But when was the last time you can remember seeing one? That was our thoughts when we first saw the advert for the car back in 2021 and after having reading the story and the history of the car we knew it had to be ours!
Speaking of the History File I have never seen a more thicker and more comprehensive history file for a car than this one! It reads as though it's telling you the cars life story! The original order sheet and bill of sale along with every Mot Certificate confirm the the cars current mileage along with every receipt and service bill aswell as all the various handbooks including owners manual audio book and service book with the aforementioned 30 service stamps it's quite a read I will say!!
The car is such a joy to drive! Yes the 45bhp 1. 3 engine is never going to pull the skin off a rice pudding! And there may only be 4 gears but who cares! I guarantee you'll still be getting the most looks driving down the high street or pulling in the petrol station! And Someone will always come up and reminisce how there mum or dad use to take them to school in one of these etc!
We've thoroughly enjoyed taking the car out to Classic Car events around the country!
The car has won Best 1980s Vehicle at the Notts Classic Car and Motorcycle show at Thoresby park and was also selected to take Part in the Concours De L'ordinaire at the Hagerty Festival of Unexceptional at Grimsthorpe castle, The car also won Car of the show at Wonderland Show near Nottingham a well known show in the Ford enthusiast community
