2002 (02) Audi A2 1. 4 Petrol Sport
11 months MOT
ULEZ Compliant
2 Keys
Selling on behalf of my partner, due to imminent house move and need for funds, her Audi A2 1. 4 'Sport' - Known in the family as Genevieve.
I sourced this for her back in 2021, as a runabout for evenings and weekends. Being the 'Spowtsss' version, the car has different suspension, a full 'DIS' screen, three spoke steering wheel and, personally a nice dash/ trim level than the SE.
The A2's a really under-rated car and it's nice to see it coming into its own. We took this one to last year's festival of the unexceptional, where it fitted in perfectly.
After buying the car, the following work was carried out in 2021 at 118, 102 miles:
Timing belt, idlers, water-pump (Gates)
Aux belt and tensioner
All fluids, including gearbox oil changed
Sparks
Front discs and pads
Front Callipers cleaned and painted
Rear drums, shoes, mechanisms, new cross-axle brake pipe.
Alloys refurbed and new tyres (budget)
Over the last 3 years of ownership, it's subsequently had.
Services each year (Running on 5w40 fully synth) changed every 3-4k miles/ year
Thermostat housing replaced
Front drop links
N/ S suspension arm
Both front flexi's
Track rod end
Replacement rear spring
Front wiper blade
Replacement front screen
The car drives well for age and mileage and is incredibly good on fuel on a run. The A/ C is the coldest I've ever experienced in a car.
There's a full folder of history for the car, going back to supplying dealer. The car comes with 2 keys, which start and unlock the car. (remote locking works on one) and original book pack. The car comes with the rare collapsable spare and false floor.
Cosmetically the car is challenged. Externally there is lacquer peel and scuffs on every panel - a characteristic of 000's Audi's, but as the car is for shops/ town trips, it hasn't bothered us. The interior is complete but showing age-related marks commensurate with age and mileage.
Electrically this is a good example, with the fuel flap switches working. Our first A2 suffered from most known A2 electrical challenges, which this one does not.
The car has also been ran on super unleaded since we've owned it. The BBY engine is meant to be E10 compatible, but found it runs smoother on E5.
This is never going to win a concourse show, but is a good useable run about, or base-project for someone wanting an A2 as a do-er upper.
Imminent house move and need for a bigger car forces sale.
