This listing is for my 1998 Honda Acty HA4 I have been working on in my spare time. Unfortunately I no longer have the time or space to tinker with this amazing little truck and are just about ready to pass on the torch. Whether you are looking for a really convenient little 4x4 work truck or a fun little run around that’ll turn heads, this little truck is sure to fit that hole. The truck itself has a 660cc petrol engine fitting it into the Japanese ‘Kei’ car class, as expected this doesn’t make it the fastest thing on the road but it can get to 70mph and isn’t slow enough to make it a hazard. The truck is 4 Wheel drive making it a really handy little tool if you're in need for a work truck that can get into some hard to reach places. The bed itself is around 140cm x 200cm meaning you can really fit some stuff in the back and with the handy strap points under the truck you can secure it well. The car was imported from Japan and therefore was lucky enough to live its life on salt free roads meaning this truck is solid underneath (It was grade 3. 5). The truck has 92, 000km on the clock (57000 Miles) and seems to have lived its life as a reliable little farm truck. This truck is not a perfect show truck, as mentioned it lived its days as a farm truck and therefore there are some bodywork blemishes and signs of its hard work here and there.
Since it arrived I have been gradually cleaning up the truck, in this endeavour I have:
Completely knocked back the bed and sides to get rid of any surface corrosion from scratches and general bed wear and tear. Once knocked back I sealed it and primed it before coating it with Raptor Bed liner to provide a protective outer layer. The underside of this truck was in amazing condition so to protect it the chassis rails and arches were also coated in raptor bed liner (pictures available of the whole process before, during and after so you can see its original condition). Whilst in my ownership I have also completely disassembled the interior to steam clean out all of the dust that had accumulated over its lifetime and help make the interior a nice place to be (came as grade D interior). Unfortunately as with most of these trucks the seats are not in great condition, the hard work on the farm has taken its toll on the seats so they could do with some reupholstery. As a temporary solution I imported some seat covers that just cover the tops of the seats but I can provide detailed pictures of the seat conditions underneath. After 3 months at the sea all the small scratches and chips were showing so I gave the exterior some love to bring it back to white. The car has 5 brand new tyres, Long MOT, a Fog light wired for road legality and all paperwork completed. I do also have 2 used engine mounts that I have not yet had the chance to replace. The original ones aren’t causing any issues but have been repaired by the looks of it and I had the opportunity to get some used mounts at a decent price to have spare. As mentioned this truck is incredibly solid for its age as seen in the photos, however there is one spot that could use some attention. If you know these trucks there is a point at the bottom of the driver side door where water can pool and therefore start corroding. After tackling it with a wire wheel to get to the bottom there is a small pound coin hole in that spot where the water has corroded it as seen in the pictures.
I bought this project to clean it up and get it registered so I will definitely be sad to see it go but it's time for someone else to have their fun with it. Please don't hesitate to ask for pictures or videos of specific details or parts, I'd be more than happy to oblige.
