This… is a 1998 Toyota MR2 in Cosmos Blue.
- Currently has around 166, 500 miles, I am still driving it so will go up.
- Cosmos Blue - One of the rarest colours they came in and in my opinion the best.
- T-Bar as it’s the best version.
- Well-maintained, with a lot of love going into it to make it look and drive flawlessly.
- Full Service history from 2007 onwards.

Recent Work (Under Current Ownership):
Service and Maintenance:
- Service at 165, 000 miles with Iridium Spark Plugs.
- Thermostat and Temp Sensor replaced, with a complete coolant flush and change.
- Powerflex Performance Bushes installed on the engine mounts (front and rear) and rear anti-roll bar.
- Steering components refreshed: New Inner Steering Rack Arms, Steering Rack Gaiters, Track Rod Ends, and Lower Suspension Ball Joints on both sides.
- Rear anti-roll bar drop links replaced on both sides
Exterior & Bodywork:
- Extensive rust repair carried out on the boot, sills, engine bay, doors, and other areas.
- Fresh paint on body panels, including front and rear bumpers and quarter panels.
- Old subframe removed and replaced with new subframe.
- New Toyota badges, wing mirrors, and a stock exhaust (a JapSpeed exhaust available too).
Interior Upgrades:
- Interior refreshed with an OEM steering wheel, new gear gaiter, and OEM gear knob.
- Upgraded with a Pioneer Wireless CarPlay system for modern connectivity.
Completely stock inside apart from the Pioneer system.
- Wheels :
- Three sets of wheels available: 2x Fox Racing 17 inch and 1x Toyota Rev 5 Wheels.
- Revision 5 wheels are currently on as I prefer the OEM look of the car
Previous Owner’s Work:
- All four brakes were recently replaced.
- Exedy Clutch Kit installed on 31/ 05/ 2023.
- Top Strut Mount replaced on 28/ 03/ 2022.
- Engine out for a comprehensive overhaul, including a new Timing Belt Kit, Drive Belt, Water Pump, Rotor Arm, and Distributor Cap on 01/ 06/ 2019.
This Toyota MR2 has been well cared for in my ownership with a considerable amount of work done to keep it running smoothly and looking great.
Whether you're a fan of the MR2 or just looking for a reliable sports car with that is also mid engined, this could be the perfect addition to your garage.
Just a note: The only part which needs doing is the seats, It currently has the MR2 Turbo seats which are half leather and half alcentara which will need refurbishment but apart from that the car is perfect. The car is 26 years old so there are some age related marks but it’s expected for the car.
