For sale my rhd 1990 Alfa Spider s4 in Grigio Chiara metallic with 41665 miles from new.
The car was registered on 3 October 1990, and sold to Mr Geoffrey Russell by Charles Ivey, Alfa Romeo dealers in Mayfair London W1. Mr Russell kept the car for 25 years. During his ownership, the car was always garaged in Wimbledon or Hampshire, and was serviced every year without fail initially by Charles Ivey, then by various Alfa main dealers and specialists. I have all the bills and MOT history for this car from new, Also included is the original Alfa service wallet with the owners manuals, and service coupon book.
The car was then sold by Historic auctioneers in 2015 with a mileage of 37, 208. The auction details included the following; “once in a while, special example of the Alfa romeo marque becomes available, and this Alfa S4 is one of those motorcars.” it was bought for the wife of the proprietor of Alex Jupe Motorsport as a birthday present. They went through the car thoroughly fitting new tyres battery and service items.
The car was then sold on by O Davis cars in September 2016 for £14250 to Mr Michael Lloyd with a mileage of 37, 700. Mr Lloyd kept the car until 2020 having it serviced by Barden Brothers. The servicing included rebuilding the front braking system with new calipers and pads, and re waxoyling the underside of the car.
The car then sold at the London classic car show by Coys auctioneers. Their sales particulars included the following “ this is a truly superb example of one of the great Italian sports cars and probably the best we have ever seen.”
I purchased the car in June 2023. I’ve spent many hours under the car steam cleaning the underneath and re-waxing using Bilt Hamber Dynax s50. Due to the car being always garaged there is no rust in the sills floor pan wheel arches boot floor doors bonnet boot etc. I have also replaced the rear section of the exhaust and fitted a new fuel filter. The car is now sadly for sale as I am losing my garage.
As can be seen from the photos this car is in very good unrestored condition. The interior condition is commensurate with the mileage. Paintwork is Extremely good and has been detailed recently. There is a Nardi wooden steering wheel fitted, and a modern Kenwood DAB CD player. The hood has been replaced not faded and is in good condition throughout. Right hand drive examples of these cars are quite rare, and to find one with such a complete history and low mileage rarer still. The spider has never had a structural advisory on an MOT.
